We hope you’ve cleared your calendar on August 12 at 7pm…

…because this month Vocabaret is going to boldly go where no wordplay show has gone before: SPACE! We’re making room for new euphemisms about New York City apartments, reading between the lines of style guides, exploring the odyssey of the Voyager’s Golden Record, and reviewing the nomenclature of things in the sky to remind you that, despite all odds, things are looking up!

We’ll also have special guests, live music, and more interplanetary lingo than billionaires’ imaginations could ever contain. Get in the (o)zone with us and buy your tix before we run outer space!

Vocabaret stars New York City’s most-decorated wordsmiths as they host a night of raucous wordplay, etymological deep-dives and alphabetic absurdity as they pull words apart and explore the link between language and our daily lives. Each show is centered around a theme and features games, challenges and special guests.

Anagrams: unscrambled! Entendres: doubled!Portmanteaus: revamplified!Hosted by your friends wit benefits: Sam Corbin, Tim Donnelly, Jerzy Gwiazdowski, Ally Spier and Nikolai Vanyo, five heavyweight champions of the word. They’ve racked up more than 100 titles at the Punderdome, taken home trophies at the Pun-Off World Championships and confused the heck out of America’s Got Talent. Their quips have been featured in The New Yorker, InStyle, The New York Post, The President Show and all over the puniverse.

Doors 6:30 PM, show 7:00 PM.Tickets $20 in advance, $24 at the door, $10 livestream.

No outside food or drink is allowed.

COVID POLICIES

As we re-open we’re doing everything we can to keep our audience, performers, and staff safe and are complying with all Covid regulations.

As part of this, all attendees must present proof of full vaccination to enter. Proof can be via the New York State Excelsior pass, a physical copy of the CDC card, a photo of your CDC card, or other electronic record of vaccination includes name and date (e.g., some chain pharmacies have an app with this information). In all cases the name must match that on your photo ID.

REFUND POLICY

Tickets may be refunded up to 24 hours before the event. Within 24 hours we may take exchanges for other events at our discretion. No refunds after the event.
