On June 7th, the residents of The New Jewish Home, Sarah Neuman, a Mamaroneck nursing home, will host a free, intergenerational event with the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Girl Scout troop to help make the dream of Olivia Vander Woude a young, wheelchair-bound Girl Scout come true.

Open to all members of the community, the event will raise funds for the construction of a handicap ramp (and other ADA modifications) for the local Girl Scout house, allowing Olivia, and others in community, to take part in the important events held there. Paired together, the Girl Scouts and the elders – those able to walk and wheelchair-bound alike – will walk and “roll” around a course on the Sarah Neuman campus grounds. The event will feature roughly 30 Girl Scouts and 20 elders, music performed live by kids from the local School of Rock program, ribbons for the participants, balloons and streamers, and, of course, tasty Girl Scout cookies for all attendees to enjoy. Everyone is invited to come, cheer, and sponsor a Girl Scout!
