Why Can’t We All Just Get Along?

How the science of disagreement explains increasing polarization

It seems that there are preciously few things left that we can still agree on. One of those things is that polarization is at an all-time high. Indeed, we are arguably on an unsustainable course – one that threatens the very social fabric, if unchecked.

In this talk, Dr. Pascal Wallisch will discuss the current state of affairs in terms of what we know about the science of disagreement, including popular phenomena such as #thedress or Laurel and Yanny.

Pascal Wallisch serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU. His research interests are at the intersection of Psychology and Neuroscience, specifically Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience.
