More than 30% of all food grown for human consumption is lost or discarded every year while millions go hungry. In his most recent book Why Waste Food?, author Andrew F. Smith examines the causes of avoidable food waste and highlights strategies to tackle this pressing global concern. Smith has taught food study courses at the New School since 1996 and writes extensively about food.
