Paul Dano’s directorial debut, adapted from Richard Ford’s 1990 novel, tells the story of a family pulled apart by a forest fire in rural Montana.

When a forest fire near Montana’s Canadian border rages out of control, recently unemployed Jerry decides to join the cause of fighting the blaze. His wife, Jeanette, and their only child, 14-year-old Joe, are left to fend for themselves, Joe forced into the role of adult, Jeanette struggling to keep her head above water.

Screenwriters Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan will join the audience for a Q&A session following the free screening of their film.
