The Wisdom Bar – SHEroes of NYC: The Untold History of Women in New York

Theatre producer and NYC storyteller Jessie Fahay traces the unsung women behind some of New York's most significant contributions — and asks why the instinct to downplay achievements may be less personal than inherited.

The lecture surfaces stories of women across different worlds and eras whose foundational work was credited to men or institutions, then presses a larger question: how did generations of being written out of history shape the way women relate to autonomy, professional careers, and personal sovereignty? And how do we break free?

Fahay has spent 17 years creating provocative theatre productions, holds an MFA and MBA, and has delivered a TEDx Talk on arts-driven advocacy. A lifelong New Yorker and tourism industry veteran of 15+ years.
