Women in Medicine: Filling the Gaps in Women’s Health

Dr. Mary E. D’Alton, Chair of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in conservation with Dr. Benedetta Sampoli Benitez, Chair of the Division of Sciences, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Pre-Health Advisor at Marymount Manhattan College.

Throughout her career, Dr. Mary D’Alton has identified gaps in women’s healthcare and worked to fill them with innovative training, research, and clinical care programs. This conservation will focus on maternal mortality and morbidity, women’s mental health, and comprehensive care for women before and after pregnancy. Attendees can expect to increase their awareness of some of these important issues and take home practical strategies for optimizing their own health or the health of the women in their lives.
