WomensActivism.NYC Story-a-Thon

Throughout history, women have always had an impact on our policies and politics. Now, in this historic election year, the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in the U.S., we’re inviting you to help us collect the stories of inspiring women who made a difference through their activism.

Whether you’re a writer and storyteller or a genealogy or history buff, you can help us write women into history! Please join us for a live, virtual write-in event on Saturday, October 24th. Our goal: writing and gathering stories of all the women who have improved our lives, from an ancestor or relative to world leaders, as well as everyday heroines like teachers, entrepreneurs, artists, and healthcare workers.

You can choose to write your own original stories or gather inspiring stories online and edit to make them your own. The stories you write will be preserved forever by the New York City Municipal Archives to inspire the next generation of female leaders.
