Writing to Persuade CANCELED

The art of persuasion comes alive every day in the pages of editorial and op-ed columns across the country.

Join former New York Times Op-Ed page editor, Trish Hall, and Andrew Rosenthal, former New York Times Editorial Page editor, for this instructional conversation on the art of writing persuasively.

As the person in charge of the Op-Ed page for the New York Times, Trish spent years immersed in argument, passion, and ideas―but also in tangled sentences, migraine-inducing jargon, and dull-as-dishwater writing. In this program, she and Andrew will share their experiences and take-aways editing everyone from Nobel Prize winners and global strongmen (Putin) to celebrities (Angelina Jolie). Students, job applicants, and rookie authors can get tips on writing persuasively and connecting with readers.
