Yin Stillness Qi Gong with Michael Cooney

This class is based around the foundational practice of Yi Chuan. Yi Chuan is a standing practice of stillness which involves holding the body in a set of positions that have the effect of interrupting the brain’s default patterns of chatter. Holding still in these postures allows you to focus on what is happening in your mind and body without the burden of choreography, and we will gradually increase the amount of time holding these postures in order to go deeper into the practice. Yi Chuan will be followed by gentle movements to disperse the energy built up in Yi Chuan, and prepare the body for a closing seated meditation.

All are welcome.
