Zooming in on Fungi: Learning How to Identify Common Mushrooms

With the mushroom season just around the corner now is the perfect time to learn how to identify common fungi of the Northeast. Ethan Crenson and Sigrid Jakob, senior members of the New York Mycological Society and frequent visitors to Green-Wood, will use the Cemetery’s rich fungal diversity to teach about tools and terminology, the basics of identifying fungi, and how to differentiate the delicious from the deadly—whether you’re picking for the pot or simply like to put a name to the next mushroom you see.

We’d love to continue to provide programming like this during the COVID crisis. Please support our work with a contribution of any size.

Free, RSVP required. This conversation is part of our new series of virtual programs about the horticulture and wildlife of Green-Wood, Zooming in on Nature.

Zoom link will be emailed to you the day of the program, please arrive early to test your connection
