Before East Lake Meadows: A Public Housing Story airs on PBS in March, join the filmmakers for a special preview of highlights and a discussion. The documentary, which focuses on East Lake Meadows, an Atlanta public housing development opened in 1970 and demolished a generation later, tackles the impact of racism on housing and explores the lives of residents and the community. Executive producer Ken Burns, whose many PBS films include The Civil War and Country Music, joins in conversation with directors Sarah Burns and David McMahon, who also made The Central Park Five and Jackie Robinson; Carla Shedd, associate professor of sociology at The Graduate Center; and moderator Nikita Stewart, a reporter covering social services for The New York Times.
