ICP Alumni of the One-Year Certificate Programs gather to discuss their cross-disciplinary artistic practices.
Infusing cross-disciplinary artistic practices like media, sound, and installation into a photographic project can add layers to the storytelling and nuanced impact to the experience of looking. Join ICP Faculty Gaia Squarci alongside two ICP alumni, Rehab Eldalil (DOC’ 21) and Ana Vallejo (New Media Narratives ’20) for an evening exploring their recent projects that cross photographic storytelling with other artistic mediums and strategies.
Rehab Eldalil will discuss the use of embroidery, poetry, sound, and photography in their multi-year project “The Longing Of The Stranger Whose Path Has Been Broken” which explores their estranged ancestry and connection with the Bedouin community of St. Catherine in South Sinai, Egypt. Ana Vallejo will share work from “Neuromantic,” a layered project that deploys neuroscience, data visualization, psychology, and image-making to examine the deep impact of dysfunctional relationships and trauma.
