Lapidus Center Conference: Reckoning with Slavery

The Lapidus Center for the Historical Analysis of Transatlantic Slavery is proud to present its inaugural conference, “Reckoning with Slavery: New Directions in the History, Memory, Legacy, and Popular Representations of Enslavement” at the Schomburg Center, November 16-18, 2017.

Thirty-one scholars from the U.S. and other countries will present new research on abolition, Civil War and Reconstruction, gender and sexuality, archives, memory and identity, photography, the search for freedom, and public history.
