Virtual Field Trip: Central Park Birder Christian Cooper on Birding and Inclusion

The PBS Science series NOVA will be hosting a field trip featuring a discussion and Q&A with Chris Cooper, avid birder and a board member of the New York City Audubon, who experienced a racist confrontation while bird watching in Central Park in late May that quickly went viral. In the livestreamed session, Chris will discuss his passion and tips for bird-watching, his experience #BirdingWhileBlack, and his advocacy work toward making birding more inclusive for people of color and the LGBTQ+ community. Since the incident, Chris has been outspoken about the racial profiling that many Black birders experience in outdoor spaces.
