In November of 1914 New Yorkers took to the streets, brooms in hand, to celebrate the election of Meyer London to U.S. Congress and their hope that his Socialist politics would lead to a cleaner government. A century later, hear a panel of scholars- Gordon Goldberg, Daniel Soyer and Rosalyn Baxandall (who is London’s great-niece)- discuss London’s impact and influence. We also explore London’s influence on New York and Jewish progressive politics today with Rabbi Andy Bachman.
This event is free and seating is first-come, first-served. Doors open at 6 p.m. If you have questions, contact Laura Lee at [email protected] or 212.431.0233 ext. 259.
