1968 Photo of The Rolling Stones Sells for $13,750

“The Art of Music” sale, the premiere auction of fine art music photography from the Morrison Hotel Art Gallery at Antiquorum, drew fans from all over the globe for a night of enthusiastic bidding.

The auction of more than 300 rare photographs of legendary music icons, including The Rolling Stones, Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles, totaled $564,968.00. The auction’s highest seller was for an archival digital print by photographer Michael Joseph of The Rolling Stones in London in 1968 that sold for $13,750.00.

“We were extremely pleased with the auction as it gave us an opportunity to reach a whole new range of buyers around the world,” says Petere Blachley, Morrison Hotel Gallery co-owner. “It was a chance to expose the world to the best in fine art music photography because we represent the best there is. The response to the auction confirmed that when people see these photographs, they want to own them.
