They will be discussing Friedman’s new book, Pumpkinflowers, a powerful true story about a hilltop garrison (called “The Pumpkin”) defended by Israeli soldiers—including the author himself—in the 1990s. These two accomplished journalists will bring to light the importance of the events that transpired in the Israeli security zone, and how what happened there has shaped the Middle East as we know it today.
