Dance Parade

the 10th Anniversary of Dance parade, a grand celebration of dance, will feature more than 6,000 dancers from the tri-state area as well as California, Hawaii, Texas, and more, in 73 unique dance styles. Grand Marshals are famed choreographer Garth Fagan (“The Lion King”), and renowned hip-hoppers Kwikstep and Rokafella.  This year’s Dance are Leanne Cope and Garen Scribner, stars of Broadway’s “An American in Paris.” The Parade will be held Saturday May 21, beginning at 1 PM on Broadway & 21st Street, continuing down Union Square, moving east on St. Mark’s Place and dancing into Tompkins Square Park, where from 3 to 7 PM the celebration will continue with performances on set-up stages, mini-dance classes, and social dancing.
