This play is a modern story about American slavery. A student’s demand to change a poor grade escalates into a suspenseful battle with his professor over America’s future; and age, race, class, and even gender collide as power changes hands until the very end. Distinctive cellphone ringtones are near characters, intruding their personalities into the conflict.
Jodie Hoctor, a working class Irish-American student, demands that Professor Syleathia Kennedy, middle-class, African-American, change a grade given in a Race Relations class; a grade that could change his entire future but requires her to betray her racial heritage.
MATINEE on the 10th at 2pm.
