While women in America are fighting for equal pay, women in countries all around the world are still fighting for such basic human rights as education for girls, coming out from under the veil of the hijab, or protection from the practice of female genital mutilation. Join Masih Alinejad, whose Facebook campaign to free women from the hijab motivated millions around the world, and Jaha Dukureh, who was mutilated herself as a young girl and is now a vocal FGM activist whose Change.org petition prompted President Obama to call an end to the practice in the U.S., and who was recently named one of 2016’s most influential leaders by Time magazine. The discussion will be led by gender equality activist and MSNBC journalist Richard Lui.
