CaringKind Expands Services for the Chinese Community

On Monday, March 27, 2017, CaringKind, NYC’s leading expert in Alzheimer’s and dementia care for more than three decades, will host Chinese Outreach Day in Chinatown at VNS Chinatown Community Center in an effort to make CaringKind’s free services more easily accessible to the Chinese-speaking community.

The fourth Monday of every month, CaringKind, NYC’s leading expert in Alzheimer’s and dementia care for more than three decades, will host Chinese Outreach Day in Chinatown at VNS Chinatown Community Center in an effort to make CaringKind’s free services more easily accessible to the Chinese-speaking community.

Weijing Shi, Manager, Chinese Outreach at CaringKind, will spend one day per month in the Chinatown space generously provided by VNS NNORC (Visiting Nurse Service of New York).  There Shi will answer questions about Alzheimer’s and dementia and CaringKind’s free programs available to residents of all five boroughs and facilitate referrals to CaringKind’s social work services and education and training programs held in Chinese.  Shi will also assist community members fill out applications for the MedicAlert® NYC Wanderer’s Safety Program, which works with the New York City Police Department and other key community partners to locate missing dementia patients who wander.
