Join us for a special preview of the upcoming miniseries The Great War from PBS’s American Experience. The screening will be followed by a discussion with producer and director Amanda Pollak, author Richard Rubin, and historian Dr. Chad Williams, moderated by National WWI Centennial Commissioner Dr. Libby O’Connell.
The Great War tells the rich and complex story of WWI through the voices of nurses, journalists, aviators, and the American troops who came to be known as “doughboys.” The series explores the experiences of African-American and Latino soldiers, suffragists, Native American code-talkers, and others whose participation in the war to “make the world safe for democracy” has been largely forgotten.
The miniseries will premiere on April 10, 11, and 12, on Thirteen/WNET and PBS stations nationwide.
