Unsafe Space: Incarceration

Unsafe Space, the show where comedians do standup on controversial topics followed by a discussion with experts and the audience, returns to New York City to talk freely about the opposite of freedom: incarceration.

Is high incarceration keeping our streets safe, or our communities in jeopardy?
Is it racially biased or are people racing to conclusions?
Should the court system be on trial?

Judge for yourself as we discuss these questions with an incredible panel of comedians and experts:

Heather Mac Donald, policy fellow at the Manhattan Institute and author of “The War on Cops: How the New Attack on Law and Order Makes Everyone Less Safe.”

Petey DeAbreu, comedian and former criminal whose show Petey’s World was recently featured in the New York Comedy Festival.

Thaddeus Russell, author of “A Renegade History of the United States,” founder of “Renegade University” and affiliated scholar at Willamette University.

JL Cauvin, comedian and lawyer seen on the Late Late show and a regular on the Adam Carolla show.

And as always, a microphone for your questions and comments!

It’s an outspoken, respectful and entertaining way to discuss a key issue affecting society- -where anyone can speak their mind, so long as everyone gets to finish their sentences.
The show takes place at the Tribeca Screening Room, 375 Greenwich St, New York, NY 10013. A ticket doesn’t guarantee a seat if the event reaches capacity, so please arrive early. Doors are at 7:30, show starts promptly at 8pm.
