Venture INTO THE NIGHT on May 30, 2017 starting at 7:00PM for a contemporary spin on Tikkun Leil Shavuot presented by Downtown Jewish Life. Experience an evening of Jewish culture, with over 25 events ranging from concerts to spoken word performances; from text study to an interfaith conversation, from yoga to song circles. Roam free throughout the 14th Street Y and neighboring organizations to discover unusual and unexpected conversations and performances. Artists, musicians, authors, dancers, scholars, yogis, chefs and rabbis will be performing, reading, discussing, and practicing throughout the Y as the nocturnal journey filled with culture, conversation, ritual, and cheesecake continues late into the evening. It will make you see night in a whole new light.
INTO THE NIGHT takes place each year on Shavuot and is inspired by the Torah and other Jewish texts.
Cafe opens at 9:00 PM in the 2nd Floor Gymnasium. Throughout the evening, LABA Buenos Aires will present The Other Misunderstanding in the lobby and a Talk Back with the artists at 11 PM.
