The Booker Prize-winning author of The God of Small Things comes to BAM for the launch of her richly moving new novel The Ministry of Utmost Happiness. In addition to reading from her latest work, she will speak about the creative process, participate in an audience Q&A, and sign copies of The Ministry of Utmost Happiness after her talk.
In addition to her acclaimed first novel The God of Small Things, Arundhati Roy is the author of several books of non-fiction, including The Algebra of Infinite Justice, Listening to Grasshoppers, Broken Republic, and Capitalism: A Ghost Story, and most recently, Things That Can and Cannot Be Said, which she co-authored with John Cusack. She was born in Shillong, India, and studied architecture in Delhi, where she now lives. Roy is the recipient of the 2002 Lannan Foundation Cultural Freedom Prize, the 2011 Norman Mailer Prize for Distinguished Writing, and the 2015 Ambedkar Sudar award.
