The filtration process in paper making is the core concept of Tahir Karmali’s project PAPERwork, which addresses notions around borders, migration, and authenticity. Through his sound installation, Karmali amplifies the filtration process and turns this action into a performance. The sound collected will be filtered and modified itself to mirror the treatment of the paper.

Explore urban ecology with Biobus, a research-grabe mobile microscope lab.
Cake Boys
Drew Pettifer makes work that explore the homoerotic male gaze. In Cake Boys, the public is invited to eat cakes that have erotic photographs of men printed on them, served within our second floor exhibition, After you’re done.
Fact Craft: The Office of Blame Accountability
Humorous and serious as well as contemplative and introspective, this public art project invites you to consider the agency of blame.

Make zines with found images and text from the Reanimation Library as you learn more about the project housed across the street at Pioneer Books.

Gavin Riley Smoke Machine Presents: The Space Needle Mystery
Space Needle Mystery is a live-music take on a Choose Your Own Adventure paperback set to the tune of 80’s quasi-futurist synth tones, and inventive story rhymes. A spitball of goofy hip-hop, blow-by-blow audience interaction, and endearing low poly animations by John Karel, audience members will collectively determine the fate of a middle school-aged protagonist.
