We are in the early stages of a fourth industrial revolution, transitioning to a “futuristic” world shaped by artificial intelligence, smart robotics, interconnected autonomous systems and 3D manufacturing. The limitless applications of this technology pose potential problems—loss of jobs, threats to privacy and new forms of warfare. Such profound technological advancements will challenge every facet of society, demand innovative responses and inspire new ways of thinking.

What are the cultural, political and ethical challenges of military robotics? How can technology improve life in smart cities? What kinds of jobs will emerge? How do we adapt 20th-century regulations to new technologies with such far-reaching applications? Where will we be in 10 years?
