Howard Bloom and Danny Goldberg Present Bloom’s How I Accidentally Started the Sixties
Danny Goldberg is the author of In Search of the Lost Chord: 1967 and the Hippie Idea, and runs Gold Village Entertainment whose management clients include Steve Earle. Goldberg was previously President of Atlantic Records and Mercury Records and before that managed Nirvana and Bonnie Raitt among others.
As for Bloom, he is co-designing a multi-planetary mission at Caltech. The Office of the Secretary of Defense has thrown a forum on one of Bloom’s books and has brought in representatives from the State Department, the Energy Department, DARPA, IBM, and MIT. BRIC-TV is currently making a 90-minute documentary about Bloom’s life called Surf the Catastrophe, directed by two-time Emmy winner Charlie Hoxie. Bloom has been on 545 North American radio stations 223 times. He co-founded the Asian Space Technology Summit, which he chaired in Malaysia in May. Oh, and once upon a time Bloom worked with Michael Jackson, Prince, Bob Marley, Bette Midler, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, David Byrne, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Queen, Kiss, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and Run-DMC. Not to mention Amnesty International, Farm Aid, the NAACP, the Black United Fund, and the United Negro College Fund.
Conversation and book signing.
Simon Constable in Forbes says:
“Make your life better reading Howard Bloom. By any standards, Howard Bloom has achieved great things. Scientist, publicist, and author barely begin to describe it. His latest book, How I Accidentally Started The Sixties, adds mightily to the oeuvre. So great is his body of work that it would be easy for even a superbly accomplished individual to read the bio at the back of his recently published book and come away with a general feeling of inferiority. Don’t let that put you off. [How I Accidentally Started the Sixties] is the beautiful story of Howard Bloom, and it is hilarious…America needs more books like Bloom’s. It’s funny and smart.”
