In the room where it all began—Henry Street Settlement’s historic dining room—“We Call Upon the Believers in Democracy: The NAACP at 110” will explore the origin of the NAACP and how the organization has evolved, endured, and raised debate over the past 110 years.

Robyn C. Spencer, historian, professor at City University of New York, and author of The Revolution Has Come: Black Power, Gender, and the Black Panther Party in Oakland
L. Joy Williams, president of Brooklyn NAACP and founder and principal of New York-based consulting firm LJW Strategies
Moderated by Anna Duensing, public historian and PhD candidate in history and African American Studies, Yale University
