Alessandra Belloni and I Giullari di Piazza, the ensemble of musicians, vocalists and dancers specializing in Southern Italian folk music and theater, present “God is a Woman and She is Black – Healing Journeys with the Black Madonna.”  The concert is based on Belloni’s recently published, best-selling book Healing Journeys with the Black Madonna: Chants, Music, and Sacred Practices of the Great Goddess.”  A truly unique experience, transporting audiences to a time and place where an ancient tradition continues today.  Performances Dec. 28 at 8 PM and Dec. 29 at 3 PM at Theater for the New City, 155 First Avenue (bet. 9th & 10th Streets).
