Title: “Relativity–Backward ” Photography Solo Exhibition

“Relativity” is a series of photographs mixed with understanding or misunderstanding the relationship about time and space. This project according to “Time Direction” has been split into two parts ” Forward” & “Backward”, and here being exhibited is the “Backward” part. Artist May Meng have studied many physic theories and related philosopher’s articles, she found out it’s surprisingly interesting to apply those into her own artworks practices. And, what similar of all this is the world still open to that “Time” has a chance to go both ways. By creating this series works, she also wants to open two questions which debating in her artworks: “Does Time prove the existence of Space ” or “Space prove the existence of Time?” It is quite fascinating for her to treat her own artist practice tool “Photography”, which have been prove that had the power to show both existences: time and Space, to understand and make the judgment that what is true and more, to her, the question “what is a ‘Photograph’ being considered to be existed in our Relativity World” becoming a puzzle clue in this two exhibitions.
In this talk she will play some interactive activities and open questions and conversations to let people feel the concept of “Relativity” in the exhibition and in your life of vision.
“Relativity-Forward “ is also on viewing at the Grand Central Branch during the month of Jan& Feb 2020.
About the Artist:
Mingmei(May) Meng has lived a diverse and interesting life, including a sting as a performer in a Traveling Motorcycle Circus starting when she was six. She is an artist, art educator, photographer, filmmaker and curator. She does most creative and conceptual photography and mixed with inspirations from insider of hearts and outsider of the world. She creates many art films and music stories to express her imaginations and philosophy. She has Solo exhibited her project” World She in NYC” Portraits Series on Times Square Nasdaq and Reuters Billboards and at NYPL Morningside Heights Branch, “Childhood on the Street” Solo Exhibition at NYPL Harry Belafonte 115th Street Library Branch, “Stranger” –Solo Photography and Installation works Exhibition at HI NYC Hostel, Solo Photography Exhibition “PIECES” at New York Arts Center Gallery, Conceptual photography Solo Exhibition “OVER” at St.Agnes Branch and “Moments of Color” Group show at Athena Blank Gallery and “The Answer” conceptual photo essay in the TNC Gallery New York.
