The Zero Experiment: Artist Shei Phan
Every Thursday night Winston Wise Magazine presents The Zero Experiment, a immersive virtual gallery experience to help the art community thrive and stay together during the Covid-19 epidemic.
In a traditional gallery opening often the presenter is overwhelmed with people and you never get to talk to them, this setting allows for an intimate one-on-one to really get into the mind of the artist. After you are taken on this visual journey and have time to speak to the artist, we will then auction off the pieces and proceeds shall go to a business or charity of those who are directly affected by current economic crisis.
We strongly encourage you to have a glass of your favorite wine, some cheese or good snacks to replicate a traditional gallery opening setting.
The Zero Experiment, founded and directed by entrepreneur and curator Marina Dojchinov, is breaking down the barriers between a traditional Thursday night NYC opening, and adapting to our new ‘stay at home’ status and taking it to international waters.
Welcome to the Zero Experiment, where nothing is impossible…
Our first featured artist is Shei Phan. The former runner up of Americas Next Top Model, and a internationally acclaimed artist with feminist flair. While her preferred medium is oil on canvas, she is also a skilled sculptor, crafting clay, wire and metal materials to explore other dimensions of her subconsciousness, merging the many facets of her creativity.
You can ask her things like “What is your inspiration”, “What is your obsession with Unicorns in your work” and “Why did you call Tyra Banks crazy”.
The first business we are working with is a children’s charity Broadway Bound Kids, who have lost most of their staff and are struggling to keep their doors open. The charity passionately believes that involvement in the performing arts increases children’s self-esteem, builds relationships, encourages respect, and releases creativity. In our programs kids learn about teamwork, respect, self-expression, critical thinking, and so much more. These important skills help them in school and in life.
Each Thursday we will be donating proceeds to a different charity. We are open to submissions if you would like your business to be featured let us know by emailing [email protected].
