Join Green-Wood Historian Jeff Richman and Morbid Anatomy founder Joanna Ebenstein for an illustrated conversation about Brooklyn’s Coney Island, its connections to Green-Wood, and the astounding amusements that made it an international super-attraction for decades. At Coney Island in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, you could visit exotic “native villages” and enjoy a dizzying assortment of death and disaster themed immersive amusements in which you could choose being buried alive, experiencing the San Francisco earthquake, or living through the biblical apocalypse.
