How Physicians and Victims’ Families Are Surviving the Pandemic

FRONTLINE and The New York Academy of Medicine invite you to join a virtual eventfeaturing, “The Last Call,” a short documentary co-produced with The New Yorker during reporting for the FRONTLINE documentary The Virus: What Went Wrong. The film illustrates the personal loss of one family behind the staggering numbers of those lost to the virus. The in-depth conversation featuring physicians, including NYAM’s President Dr. Judith Salerno, will explore the experiences of healthcare professionals during the height of the pandemic.

The discussion will explore a range of topics including:

  • The experience of family members dealing with effects of the virus on loved ones.
  • The virus’ toll on healthcare workers serving critical COVID-19 patients.
  • The challenges and triumphs of hospital staff dedicated to serving these patients.
  • The experience of healthcare workers who continue to serve on the front line.
