Pinecrest Gardens Presents ‘Jazzaid Live at the Banyan Bowl’ with Standout Jazz Vocalist and Grammy Winner Kurt Elling
Determined to keep the music alive this season, Pinecrest Gardens, South Florida’s Cultural Arts Park, is hosting ‘JazzAid Live at the Banyan Bowl’ to help feed America and bring jazz masters to the homes and hearts of viewers nationwide. GRAMMY winner KURT ELLING is the next artist scheduled to perform in the eight-show concert series, which will broadcast live from the acoustically magnificent Banyan Bowl at Pinecrest Gardens. A generous percentage of the proceeds from the COVID-19 relief fundraiser will go directly to World Central Kitchen, an organization that uses the power of food to heal and strengthen communities through times of crisis and beyond that was founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés.
Declared “the standout male vocalist of our time” by The New York Times, Elling has garnered unprecedented accolades, including a 14-year run atop the DownBeat Critics Poll, a dozen GRAMMY nominations, and eight Jazz Journalists Association awards for “Male Singer of the Year.” During the 2020-21 JazzAid Live concert season, jazz fans also will enjoy live-streamed performances by the world-renowned Glenn Miller Orchestra, award-winning trombonist Wycliffe Gordon, acclaimed saxophonist, singer and composer Grace Kelly, child prodigy Joey Alexander, and multi-Grammy Award winning The Manhattan Transfer. JazzAid Live concerts to date have featured international superstar Jon Secada and jazz icon Dee Dee Bridgewater. The emcees for the concert series are Ceci Velasco and Latin jazz icon Tito Puente, Jr.
Due to the pandemic and social distancing requirements, JazzAid Live at the Banyan Bowl is available via pay-per-view, livestream only. $15.
Now in its 11th year, Pinecrest Gardens’ all-star jazz series has brought some of jazz music’s hottest and biggest names to South Florida. The series sells out year after year as a result of a thriving community of local music lovers.
But due to the pandemic, Pinecrest Gardens was faced with potentially having to cancel the upcoming season. Instead, Pinecrest Gardens has reimagined its signature event to benefit the COVID-19 food relief efforts of celebrated chef Jose Andres’ non-profit organization, World Central Kitchen.
