On June 11, join Scandinavia House for a roundtable discussion on the Stranger’s Guide Scandinavian edition! The Stranger’s Guide is an award-winning publication that focuses on improving global citizenship by providing excellent and unexpected storytelling from around the world. To celebrate the release of their Scandinavian issue, distinguished guests will talk about the changing face of the region from an environmental, societal, and cultural perspective. Panelists include Icelandic author & documentary filmmaker Andri Snær Magnason, translator Lytton Smith, Sámi reindeer herder and photographer Carl Johan Usti, and Stranger’s Guide editor Kira Brunner Don; ASF Fellow Ethelene Whitmire (Professor/Chair, Department of Afro-American Studies, University of Wisconsin – Madison) will moderate the conversation.
Editor Kira Brunner Don will also give us an overview of the Scandinavian issue and the planning and thought process behind it.
This event will take place as a Zoom webinar; please register at the link above. Please ask questions in the chat or send them in advance to [email protected].
