Erasing Borders Dance Festival
The Indo-American Arts Council (IAAC) announces the annual, eagerly awaited Erasing Borders Dance Festival, September 21-23 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55 St., NYC. Entitled “Then and Now,” the 17th annual Festival presents three completely different evenings featuring both renowned and emerging artists in several different styles of East Indian dance and music. Sept. 21 & 22, 6 pm, evenings are live at the Ailey Citigroup Theater; Sept. 23, 7 pm, features artists in various locations in India, and can be viewed on Facebook and YouTube.com. Both a feast and an education in the art of East Indian dance and music. In addition to the performances, there will be two workshops at the Ailey Studios, Sept. 21 & 22, in Bollywood Kathak and Bharatanatyam styles.
