Agatha Christie is the best-selling mystery writer of all time. Over the course of her career, she wrote sixty-six detective novels that feature characters so memorable and so vivid, they continue to define the genre. Her first book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, was written more than 100 years ago, but Christie’s influence on contemporary crime fiction, as well as her popularity across a range of media, is undiminished.
In this four-session seminar, we’ll explore Christie’s enduring hold on the imaginations of readers and writers. A discussion and reading guide will be provided for each of the four books:
A Murder is Announced
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd
A Pocketful of Rye
The Body in the Library
