Join trans authors Alex Myers and Jackson Bird for a discussion about their books and the trans author life.
Jackson Bird is a writer and digital creator dedicated to demystifying the transgender experience by sharing his and others’ stories on his podcast, Transmission, as well as on his YouTube channel, jackisnotabird. His unflinching and endearing memoir, SORTED, is about how, through a childhood of gender mishaps and an awkward adolescence, he finally sorted things out and came out as a transgender man in his mid-twenties.
Alex Myers is a teacher, speaker, writer, and advocate for transgender rights; his essays have appeared in the Guardian, Slate, Newsweek, Salon, and other journals. His debut novel, Revolutionary, came out in 2014. Continental Divide tells the story of Ron, a transgender man whose search for the right America (Go West, Young Man!) will become a search for the right place within himself to find truth, happiness, and a sense of belonging.
