Art, History, and Mystery: Anna Rasche with Sam Chong on The Stone Witch of Florence

Join us for an evening with Anna Rasche, author of The Stone Witch of Florence, and author Samantha Chong. The Stone Witch of Florence is a gorgeous and thrilling novel about art, witchcraft, and the men that have long sought to suppress feminine agency. If you love history, art, Italy, and a Dan Brown-esque thriller, this is the event for you!

Anna Rasche is an author, gemologist, and jewelry historian who has previously worked in the jewelry collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as for many private dealers and individuals in NYC’s diamond district. When she is not writing or evaluating old jewelry, Anna develops cultural programming dedicated to presenting history in a manner accessible to all. She has collaborated with the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Historical Society, New York City Jewelry Week, and quite a number of very fun bars. More formally, she teaches jewelry history at the graduate level at Sotheby’s Institute of Art.

Samantha Chong is a Malaysian fiction writer currently based in New York City. Her debut YA novel, Prodigal Tiger, will be published by Putnam Children’s in Spring 2026. Having lived all around the globe, Samantha is interested in exploring what it means to belong, whether that’s tied to places, people, or the myriad of ways that someone can carve out their space in an increasingly shifting world.
