The Artistic Genius of Michelangelo: An Intensive Seminar in NYC WAIT LIST ONLY
As most art lovers in NYC and around the world know, the Metropolitan Museum is currently exhibiting the world’s largest selection of Michelangelo drawings right here in New York (now through February). This is your opportunity to speak with a world-renowned expert about this unique exhibition. Professor William Wallace teaches Renaissance art and architecture at Washington University in St. Louis, and is an internationally recognized authority on Michelangelo and his contemporaries. In addition to more than 90 essays, chapters, and articles, he has the authored and edited seven different acclaimed books on Michelangelo.
On Friday, January 5th in NYC, Professor Wallace will hold an intensive seminar on Michelangelo. It will offer an intimate glimpse into the life, work, and genius of western civilization’s greatest sculptor, painter, architect and poet, who was both a fascinating and deeply conflicted individual. After attending this seminar, you’ll enjoy the Metropolitan exhibit 10x more! You’ll analyze how he drew, how he taught others to draw, and the relationship of his drawings to finished masterpieces. At the end of the presentation we will have a remarkable discussion about how Michelangelo used drawing to work out artistic and engineering problems, as well as to draft letters, poetry, and everyday memoranda.
