Behind the MTA Arts & Design Projects

Since MTA Arts & Design (formerly Arts for Transit) was launched in 1985, its team has turned New York’s century-old transportation network into a first-rate museum, exposing millions of transit riders to art, music and poetry.

Within the MTA network, you experience artworks created in mosaic, terra cotta, bronze, glass and mixed-media sculpture. Join MTA Arts & Design director Sandra Bloodworth in conversation with Cathie Behrend, the former deputy director of the Percent for Art program, to learn about the decisions and design process for some of the MTA’s more more recent initiatives to enhance commuter experience through public art.

When: Wed., Mar. 21, 2018 at 12:00 pm
Where: The 92nd Street Y, New York
