Let by tenor, Everett Suttle, and joined by pianist, Jonathan DePeri, and violinist, Brenden Zak, this Sunday’s concert celebrates this Sunday’s concert will celebrate “Black History Month” with a performance of music by Afro-French composer Joseph Bologne—Chevalier de Saint-Georges; African-American singer, composer and arranger Harry Burleigh; and settings of poetry by Afro-Russian poet Alexander Pushkin.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
EVERETT SUTTLE, tenor, has been praised by critics around the globe for his “smooth, effortless tenor” and “beautiful, buttery tone”. Mr. Suttle made his operatic debut at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC. In repertoire that ranges from the Baroque masterpieces of Bach and Handel to 20th century works of Britten and Tippet, Everett has appeared internationally in opera, oratorio, concert and recitals at prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center, La Scala di Milano, Opera Bastille in Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, Teatro Colon in Beunos Ares, and many others. Most recently, he debuted at Carnegie Hall, Stern Auditorium, singing excerpt from Life of Christ Cycleby Roland Hayes and sang the tenor lead in the North American premier of L’Amant Anonymn by the Chevalier de Saint George.

JONATHAN DEPERI, piano, is the Honorary Assistant Organist at St. John’s in the Village and had studied piano at the Manhattan School of Music before transferring to Columbia University. In 2013, he formed the Gotham Arts Salon, which creates artistic and musical gatherings that blur the line between private and public. https://www.facebook.com/GothamArts/

BRENDEN ZAK, violin, is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in performance at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Li Lin. He was a finalist in the 2016 Stulberg International String Competition and he has soloed with The Ocean City Pops, Ambler Symphony, The Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey, The Sinfonietta Nova, The Temple University Orchestra and The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra. Brenden was the 2014 – 15 Junior Peace and Music Ambassador for the Harmony for Peace Foundation. Brenden has attended the esteemed Perlman Music Program where he has had the opportunity of working closely with Itzhak Perlman.
