The Brooklyn Quarterly Issue Two Release Party

The editors of The Brooklyn Quarterly are thrilled to invite you to a release party in celebration of their second issue on translation, which will include:

  • essays by Dina Nayeri, author of A Teaspoon of Earth and Sea (just out in paperback!) and Idra Novey, author of Exit, Civilian and The Next Country
  • new translations of poetry by Federico Garcia Lorca and Anna Akhmatova
  • digital storytelling pieces on language and cultural translation
  • an excerpt of the first English translation of Chilean writer Alberto Fuguet’s Missing.

The event will feature readings from Dina Nayeri, as well as from Camilo Roldan and Amy Rodriguez, both poets and translators who will share their own work and the work of Alberto Fuguet.
