New York-based Colombian artist Carlos Motta, whose work revolves on the politics of sexual orientation and gender identity, will engage in a conversation with curator Lia Gangitano. They will discuss Motta’s artistic practice and recent projects and will focus on links between Motta’s and Brazilian José Leonilson’s art, now on display at Americas Society. They will consider the continuing impact of HIV/AIDS on artists from the 1980s to the present.
