Carmina Burana

Location:

Saint Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church
552 West End Avenue New York, NY 10024

Event:

In our first collaboration with the medieval ensemble Concordian Dawn, we will present selections from the iconic collection of 254 poems discovered in the library of Benediktbeuern in Bavaria in 1803. The poems, set to popular songs of the day, reveal an international cross-border connection and collaboration. The subject matter ranges from sexually explicit depictions of love and dalliance to celebrations and joys of the tavern and blatant satire of the established church.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy our concerts, and we understand that not everyone may be able to afford the published ticket prices. If you would like a ticket to one of our concerts, don’t hesitate to contact info@polyhymnia-nyc.org, and we will arrange for a pay-as-you-will or free ticket. Rest assured that our arrangements are strictly confidential.
