Cephalopod Movie Night With Science Friday
Join the Science Friday crew to celebrate Cephalopod week with libations and an immersion into the underwater world of these strange, tentacled creatures.
We’re submerging again for Cephalopod Week! Join Science Friday and Atlas Obscura for a total cephalo-party, complete with brews and a crew of amazing scientists to celebrate our favorite undersea creatures.
There’s only one marine animal we want to talk about for eight days—one for each arm! Cephalopod Week is public radio show Science Friday ’s annual celebration of these amazing creatures, from the cunning cuttlefish, to the superb squid, to the outstanding octopus. This year, from June 21-28, Atlas Obscura and Science Friday are teaming up to give you a place to celebrate these incredible invertebrates together.
Join us for an evening of talk, tentacles, and talent, featuring four original short films from Science Friday at Caveat. Science Friday video producer Luke Groskin will chat with local experts Dr. Tessa Montague, who studies cuttlefish camouflage, and New York Aquarium’s Connor Gibbons, who will give us a sneak peek into their new exhibit, Spineless, opening soon!
