Collected Images: The Collage Artist Book

Are you a collector of images and things, interested in finding meaning in a narrative format? In this two-day book workshop, students will connect content to form, using the artist book as a vehicle for their message.

Students will learn collage and mixed media practices (transferring, working with wet and dry media, proper glues and applications) introduced through collaborative exercises, demonstrations and discussion. From here, they will use their own collected materials to create a small artist book using the coptic-bound method.

Beginners are welcome, but in the spirit of the short workshop format – time will be best used if students arrive with ideas and materials ready and some experience with mixed media practices. 
We may run a little past 5pm on Friday, during the binding session!
