Creating New Conversations in Uncertain Times: A Social Therapeutic Workshop with Joyce Dattner

What kind of conversations must we create if we are to come together in new ways at a moment when many feel as much fear as hope for our democracy, our humanity and our future?
Join social therapeutic life coach Joyce Dattner and Mary Fridley, coordinator of special programs for the East Side Institute, in an exploration of what it means to go beyond our old ways of speaking and seeing and create new conversational possibilities that support everyone to grow.

Joyce Dattner is a life performance and executive coach based in New York City and San Francisco, where she directs the Life Performance Coaching Center. She is the former director of the All Stars Project of the San Francisco Bay Area, and now sits on its national Board of Directors. On the faculty of the East Side Institute for Group and Short Term Psychotherapy, Joyce has traveled internationally to advance social therapeutics, the performance-based approach to human development.
Mary Fridley is currently the pro bono Director of Special Projects and a member of the faculty at the East Side Institute, where she practiced social therapy for over a decade and continues to use social therapeutics in her work as a teacher and trainer. A long-time independent activist and community organizer, Mary makes her living as a fundraising consultant for non-profits in New York City and nationally. She is also on the directing staff of the Castillo Theatre, where she has been involved in directing more than 25 productions. Mary has also produced an award-winning feature film, Nothing Really Happens (Memories of Aging Strippers).
